A: Public meetings are held at 7:00 pm on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in Council Chambers at 810 Bedford Street, Johnstown, PA 15902.

A: Permits are required for various activities, including but not limited to, building new structures, making significant renovations, installing fences, and conducting major landscaping projects. Please contact the borough office for specific permit requirements.

A: Taxes can be paid at the Dale Borough Business Office located at 277 David Street, Johnstown, PA 15902. Office hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. You can also contact the office at (814) 536-8645 for more information.

A: To file a Right to Know Request, you must submit a completed request form to the Borough Secretary. Forms can be obtained from the borough office or downloaded from our website. Once completed, the form can be submitted in person, by mail, or via email. If you have any concerns or questions please feel free to reach out by using our contact page

A: Yard waste, including limbs, branches, and leaves, should be placed in designated yard waste bags and left for curbside collection on specified days. Alternatively, residents can take yard waste to the designated drop-off location. Contact the borough office for the collection schedule and drop-off site details.

During the Winter Months keep sidewalks and walkways free of snow and
ice.

  • Do not throw snow and ice into the streets or
    roadways.
  • Do not direct water runoff from property into
    the streets or alleys. You could be held liable, if
    any accident occurs due to freezing.

A: Yes, but with restrictions:

Public Areas: Fires are prohibited on streets, alleys, sidewalks, and other public properties.

Private Property: Outdoor fires are allowed only for cooking purposes and must follow these rules:

  • Always attended by an adult.
  • Allowed until 10:00 PM (Sunday-Thursday) and 12:00 AM (Friday-Saturday).
  • Contained in proper fire rings, stoves, or fireplaces.
  • Located at least 10 feet from structures and property lines.
  • Flames no higher than 2 feet and fire no wider than 3 feet.
  • Extinguished completely after use.

Prohibited Materials: Do not burn rubber, recyclables, garbage, grass, leaves, plastics, or hazardous materials.

Penalties: Fines up to $300 or 30 days in jail for violations.

A: If you encounter a dead animal on the road, please contact the Dale Borough Public Works Department at (814) 536-8645. They will arrange for the removal of the animal.
